Congratulations on installing NewsRiver in the OPML Editor.
When it starts up for the first time, it reads the initial feeds, ones we thought you'd find interesting, just to get started. You can unsubscribe from any of them, and of course, add your own.
Give NewsRiver a minute or two to do the initial scan, then start clicking on these links to get an idea of what you can do:
1. The Home page, where the new stories are.
The first time you scan you get a lot of stories from each feed. In the future, it will only show the new stories. That's what a River of News aggregator is all about. The new stuff is at the top.
2. The Subscriptions page, where you view, add and remove subscriptions.
3. The Preferences page, where you can change how NewsRiver works.
NewsRiver scans for new items once an hour. If you leave it running it'll find news all the time.
You can find commands in the NewsRiver sub-menu of the Tools menu in the OPML application that opens all these pages, and does a scan right now, if you want the latest, immediately.
If you have questions, post them here, or on the home page of the NewsRiver site.
